Thank you for Saving our Holiday

Dear Rabbi Levi,

It took some time to sit down and email as the work and exhaustion that follow Pesach, take a toll.
I take the time to write today, not because I have “spare time” for “extra things”. I take the time because it’s important to me. It’s important for you to know what your organization means to both me and my children.
Since I’ve been diagnosed, one of the biggest things that kept my kids going, was Chai4ever trips. I made every effort to arrange for them to join, being well aware how crucial it was. A necessity.
I did not need the absence of their presence this Chol Hamoed Pesach, to confirm it. But it did. I had it all arranged. I would muster all my koaches and take them to the Chai Forever trip. They’ve counted the weeks, days, hours…
As they say, “A mentch tracht in Gut lacht”. The morning of the trip I woke up not feeling well. Tried everything in my powers to feel just good enough to take them. But when my energy level went up just enough, the thought of driving so many hours with them, sank in and exhausted me to the core. I couldn’t pull it off. The disappointment was beyond what I can describe.
It was then that I fully realized how much these trips mean to them. How much it means to me to see them excited and happy. It was then that I realized… I have to let you know. What you mean.
Thank you thank you thank you. For bringing joy into my childrens’ lives… into their yomim tovim… into our home.

Sincerely,
R. S.
